About
Hello! I’m Matt Williams and I currently live in Starkville, MS with my wife. I attend Mississippi State University in pursuit of a Bachelors of Business Information Systems (BIS). I’m a Veteran of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. While on Active Duty in the United States Army I also completed a tour of duty in South Korea. My Army travels have taken me to numerous countries including South Korea, Japan, Germany, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq.
While in the military I served with the United States Army Signal Corps and was classified as a 25P1I (formerlly 31P – Microwave Systems Installer / Maintainer). I hold two 3M fiber-optic certifications, as well as certifications from the United States Army Basic Installer (BIC), Automation and Splicer courses. I’m also OSHA confined spaces qualified.
My real passion is design and usability. I’m continuously advancing my knowledge of Cocoa Touch (objective-c) and web design techniques. During the summer of 2010 I interned at the fantastic Kinetic Communications in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. There I advanced my knowledge of (among other things) working in a team environment. I also developed a heavy addiction to Cajun-boiled peanuts thanks to the Peanut Man across Morris Avenue.
